Culture, Wine and History - An experience not to be missed.
Enjoy a weekend of culture and history with Beira Interior's Wines.
This wine tourism experience begins in the beautiful schist village of Janeiro de Cima.
Situated in the city of Fundão, on the left bank of the Zêzere River, it is located on an almost flat area, and flanked by farmland.
Continue to Barroca, 14 km away, where hikers can discover the "Caminho do Xisto da Barroca" (Barroca Schist Trail), a circular route of about 9 km, with an easy level of difficulty and an approximate duration of 2h30.
Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to visit several tourist attractions, such as the fountains of Ribeiro da Bica and Casa Grande, as well as several chapels, namely the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Rocha, the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Agonia, the chapel of São João and the chapel of São Romão.
On the last day, you will have the opportunity to recharge your batteries with a more relaxed programme. We recommend a visit to one of the nearby Beira Interior Wine's producers: Quinta dos Currais, Agrintus, Barroca da Malhada or Adega Cooperativa do Fundão.
It will be an unforgettable wine tourism experience!
